While the Off Season -- with its consideration of rumors and analysis of trades and signings -- does eat up a lot of hours, the possibilities that will play out in the upcoming season also can serve as nourishing fodder.

Who is going to make "the leap" to superstardom?

Who is primed for a step back?

Who will emerge as a scoring threat or a shutdown defender for a surprise contender? Which players are in line to reach milestones, and when might those milestones be achieved?

These are just some of the questions that can be considered and analyzed; and while the answers won't reveal themselves until the games are played, the NBA's historical record can provide clues as to what we might see.
