So, there will be a Level 2 Freediving clinic with Martin Stepanek in
March.
The dates are March 21st - March 24th 2009
First two days are will be at the Malibu Divers and the Malibu high
school pool and then we will move to Catalina for the open water portion.

This four day course is perfect for spearfishermen, scuba divers and
freedivers whom are already familiar with and confident in the open
ocean. We will show you during this class what you can do with your
natural inborn physiology and teach you the techniques to unlock them!
The tuition fee is $595.00

Throughout this course you will be instructed in and finally assessed on:

* Intermediate static apnea technique development and skills
* Confined water static apnea safety, rescue and buddy
supervision techniques
* Freediving specific equipment
* The physics and physiology of freediving
* Psychological aspects of freediving
* Freediving training and skills development
* Open water rescue skills, buddy supervision and self evaluation.

In addition to this we will introduce you to lung measurement and
analysis and conduct daily video technique reviews.

Participants will be encouraged to take a 30 minute test on course
completion to gain Level 2 certification card. This is required to
advance in further freediving training.

This course will run from Saturday through to Tuesday, with a total of
10 hours classroom instruction, 3.5 hours of confined pool training
and 3 half days of open ocean training.

The F.I.I. Level 2 has a maximum depth limitation of 40 meters (132 feet).
