Hey Ladies
I wanted to let you know about a cool "lunchtime revue" showing next week at the
Downtown Theatre. It's put on by some good friends of ours, Matt and Jordan
Toronto. Jordan is an actress/singer/pregnant mother, and Matt is a director.
He just recently directed 1776 locally. Anyway, next week Jordan is putting on
a one-woman show, which Matt is directing.
It's actually part of a "lunchtime revue series" that's going on the whole month
of June with a different show opening every week. Jordan's show plays Monday
through Friday of next week starting at 12 noon. Oh, yeah, it's free! It will
be under an hour. It shouldn't be a problem to bring kids if you think they can
sit through it. It's intended for an adult audience, but it isn't inappropriate
for kids. The younger ones just might get a little bored.
So, here's the scoop in a nutshell:
"BABY TALK" (musical revue of songs/stories, based on Jordan's experiences of
motherhood)
In the lobby of the Downtown Theatre (on Allen, at corner of Beaver, next to
Panera)
Monday-Friday, June 11-15
12:00-1:00pm
FREE!!!
See you soon
Rebecca
Bummer that I will miss running with you all in the morning. I'm headed out bright and early for an all day field trip with my son. But, Laura, I look forward to meeting you. I'll be the loud one with the reddish brunette hair. See ya--Morgan
WOW!!!! You 2 are just incredible and I admire your dedication running
countless marathons...although I think you're crazy for this reason
too! (Didn't you just run a marathon about a month ago!?!?!)
Have a great run and I hope you have a blast! xoxo
Hugs,
kristy

Hi Ladies, I'm one of those new people
Morgan mentioned. (So new I haven't run with or even met any of you yet...)
Anyway, I'd like join you for your ladies nite out tomorrow and so I know
who to look for at Mad Mex I guess I'd better come running
tomorrow morning too. I've never really run with a group of people
before so this will definately be a new experience for me. So I
guess I'll see you at the creamery tomorrow morning!

Yes, cheers to Morgan! I am raising a glass right now...because sadly I will have to miss all of the festivities due to a work trip.
After years of being afraid to run with other people (thinking I would be too slow, too awkward, too whatever) Morgan talked me into it, and I've taken to it so well that I've found two women to run with during my conference in Denver next week.
Have a beer and a waffle for me, and I hope to rejoin you all very soon!
Well, it's about time. We need a night out. This Friday, that's June 1(!!!) I say we start at Mad Mex anytime after 8pm, and then go from there. (If you can't make it until later, and need to call to
see where we are at--my cell phone is 360-1405)
For those of you who are new the group, the usual applies...even if you
don't run with us on a regular basis, you are always welcome to join in for our "extracurricular" activities.
Also, we are overdue for a Waffle Shop Run!!! I propose next Friday, June 8(I can't be there this Friday). For those of you who do not know what a waffle shop run is...we meet at the "old" Creamery still, then we run around campus toward Rec hall, then up College Ave until we get to the Waffle shop (it's about 1.5 miles) at the base of Shortlidge/Garner and College, stop at the Waffle shop to eat/drink coffee, etc. then waddle our way back up the hill to our cars.
And now for your history lesson... This running group of totally awesome women started 3 years ago this weekend. I met Adrienne at a preschool picnic on June 2 and ran the next day with her. We met a couple of times a week to run in different places around town. That was the year the Arts Fest 10K started and ended at the Creamery, so once a
week we would meet there to run the course. We got the idea that if we met at the Creamery at a regular time, all the time, and told other women about it, then we could start a group. I said I would be there everyday...and brave women showed up to hear me ramble incessantly with mindless drivel and now the group has grown. It has grown so much that even if I don't make it some days, I know that someone will be there, and someone else will be there to run with her. Some gals have moved away, but they are still right there with us, on our minds and in funny stories. I have been blessed in my life, in so many ways, but the friendships and the female spirit that has been forged because of this group have created a feeling of being complete.
Each of you brings something to the group-no matter how slow, or fast. Everyone has their own wisdom and inspiration to share...whether she knows it or not. We always welcome new
faces, and those we haven't seen in a while (as well as those we see everyday).
So...Happy Anniversary!!!! Here's to many more....(I'm raising a glass right now)
cheers to morgan, for keeping this group alive, and for her BIRTHDAY, which I believe is THIS weekend!!! see you friday!

As you may or may not know, I am currently training to run
the Nike Women's Half Marathon in San Francisco,
California on October 21 as part of the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program (TNT).As part of this fundraising, I will be having
a large yard sale in mid-July. All the proceeds from this yard sale will be
donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. (I have attached my fundraising
letter if you are interested in donating money or reading my running blog.)
In the next month and a half, I am collecting donations of
anything you don't want anymore. Instead of giving it to Good Will, please
email or call me and I will pick it up at your earliest convenience! I am
hoping that between spring cleaning and moving, lots of people will have something
to pass on in support of a good cause.
AND in mid July, come on over to the yard sale to have some
lemonade and marvel at what your friends decided to part with! (the inventory
already includes clothes from J. Crew and Banana Republic)
Thanks so much for your help.
Best, Kerry

Hey everyone...I know it's early but I was thinking about doing the
35th Annual L.B.I. Commemorative 18 Mile Run in October. Long Beach
Island(New Jersey)is absolutely gorgeous and the route is right along
side of the ocean. Anyone else interested???
The course is a straight, flat, point-to-point run beginning in
Holgate on the south end of the island and finishing in Barnegat
Light State Park on the north end. The race is run on a paved road
with no turns. The mean air temp in October on LBI is 65 degrees with
predominating winds coming from the south.
This is the 35th year for this commemorative historical race. Race
takes place on the main boulevard of Long Beach Island. Starting at
the south end of the island in Holgate and ending at the north end in
Barnegat Light. The race remembers the 11 Israeli athletes slain at
the '72 Munich Olympics, and the thousands who lost their lives in
America on 9/11/01.
Event Date/Time: Oct. 7, 2007 (Sunday) 10:30am
Location: Long Beach Island, New Jersey

Not to "compete" with Teresa and Morgan's run...but Rebecca and I are going to go a bit earlier and do some trail running tomorrow. I am picking her up at 6:30 to drive over to the trailhead at Mt. Nittany (assuming we will get to the trailhead no later than 6:45). We'll run/hike up Mt. Nittany and run around the trail on top and then back down.
Hi ladies,
Just wanted to let you know that Teresa and I will be leading a group
run scheduled for Team in Training on Sat morning at 7:30am at Tudek
Park. You are welcome to join us.
Hope to run with you soon,
Morgan
Leave it to all of you to help make me feel younger instead of older!! You are all so awesome!
You guys are missing the best part, though....Look at the golden shoe award I won!!! This is a major award created by Teresa, of course. It is now sitting in the middle of my kitchen table and even Mark thought it was cool and was totally impressed by Teresa's creativity!
Anyway, just to help you really get a good laugh about it, I thought I would send along a few photos of when I actually earned that t-shirt--which, by the way, was on the toughest course we had in the area for cross-country and we had to run it a few times a year. (I guess that's why I saved it.) I would have been 16 then, but I ran my first 5K in 1981 when I was 12!! The first picture below (I am on the far left) was from 1984 in the Troy 10K classic in PA(check out the major awards at that race). In the second picture I am in the middle (btw, the chick in yellow stole my boyfriend senior year--that beeotch!) and this was the course from which I got the shirt and probably the same year. The last picture, I am number 588 and this was our state meet my senior year (fall 1986--and I still have that shirt too). You can see why I was surprised to fit into them still!
congrats to morgan!! A picture is worth a thousand words--but...tell us about the event and were you 15 or 16??? Still fits!!
PS... honorable mention goes to LIZ who was wearing a shirt form 1989 AND a shirt from 1990 with her husbands name as past winner of the race--very unique!

Hi ladies,
A few of us are planning to meet at the Creamery at 6:30am tomorrow
morning for a run. Rumor has it that Gina is planning to do about 10
miles, I will be doing some shorter variation that will take me 1hour-
1hour 15 minutes.
Hope to run with you soon,
Morgan
