Hi everyone,
I am totally up for meeting you all for donuts next week to celebrate
this weekend's runs, and to send off Teresa who will be heading to
Marine Corps next weekend!
Also just wanted to give you all a quick update on my stress fracture.
I had new xrays yesterday that show marked progress!! Yay! This is
sooner than expected! Although, it still means a long time before I
can run again. Dr. Aukerman explained that once the fracture fills in,
I get to start a 3 month run/walk program that gets me running for 30
minutes at a time at the end of it! So, yeah, I have a ways to go
before I am going to get to run regularly with you, but it's all
encouraging. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Hope to see you soon, and have a blast if you are running this weekend!
Morgan
Good luck and have fun! Very impressive.

I just don't like trail running anymore, Tara...that's why I am ditching Steph. ;)
Scheduling issues on my behalf are preventing me from doing the dam half...good luck to you as well, Tara!!!
And yes...someone please give Steph S. a ride so that she doesn't have to hitch one!

howdy girls!
FYI
this business is ownered by a local couple--well, she is from the area and he is german. They live in Lemont 7 months of the year and 5 months in germany. Knutes is a shortened version of "cold weather gear" in german. I met them and saw some of their goods at the packet pick-up for the relay. they have great mittens with a side zipper , hats, fleece, socks, lots of kids stuff... everything is made here or in germany. check out their website. they do sell some stuff at appalachian out doors. i think penny said everything was going to be 25% off at their sale. Buy Local!
thanks, teresa

KNÜTES SALE

Hi Everyone!
For those of you who already made it to our OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL CELEBRATION sale, THANKS! If you missed it last weekend and still would like a chance to get some great fall deals, our last day of this fall sale will be this Sunday,
October 12 from 1-6 p.m. at our house in Lemont:
701 Berry Street (white house on corner of Dale).
Please come, bring a friend, and enjoy the great gear MADE IN AMERICA and GERMANY, using recycled threads in our POLARTEC 300 line and great quality all around. From newborn to XXL adult, there is something for everyone. Please check out our selection online: www.knuetes.com!
Welcome to State College! The group meets every weekday morning at 6am. The "Old Creamery" is on the corner of Shortlidge and Curtin roads. We typically meet up in the parking lot adjacent to the Pavilion Theatre. Often, members get together at other locations for longer group runs on the weekend, and there they will send an email out to the group if they organize it.
You are welcome to come anytime. There are usually anywhere from 3-9 other people, and while there quite a few regulars, there are woman who just come occasionally too. Please come when you can. I look forward to meeting you (sometime, but right now I am unable to run due to an injury).
Best wishes,
Morgan
New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News more. Try it out!
I just moved to State College. I work at the Applied Research Lab on campus. I don't know many people and I'd like to go running with your group sometime. Do you run every morning at 6? Where is the Old Creamery? Thanks!
Hi ladies,
First...let me say I miss you all!! We have to plan a donut morning
sometime soon.
More importantly...Melissa Aukerman is still in need of volunteers
for this weekend at Tussey, so please, if you are not running,
consider volunteering. Or, if you are running, consider signing
friends and family up to help!
Here is what she needs:
From Melissa: Specifically, we need help in the afternoon at TZ 8,
staffing the turnaround on Leg 11, and helping at the finish line.
We are also looking for a pair of volunteers to drive the course,
beginning at about 2:00 PM and follow behind the runners, taking down
all of the race signs. If some of the women are running, perhaps
their spouses or a coworker can help out.
We expanded the race to four waves this year, and this has really
stretched our volunteers thin. Whereas, some volunteers could move
from spot to spot during the day, we will need many to stay put for
longer.
Please let everyone know that any interested volunteers can contact
me via email or phone (880-9048).
So, I hope to see you all out there. I will be at Colyer Lake for a
while, and hope to see those of you who are running.
See you soon,
Morgan

Hi Friends,
I am planning to run from sunset park on Saturday morning at 7AM. I am "suppose" to run 18 miles but I have been having a little IT band issue so my plan is to run/walk (8 min/1 min) for at least 12 and see how I feel. I will run on the trail out to Cedar Cliff with a loop thrown in there to make 12.
I am better :) I ran that last 2 mornings with the "group" and feel great! The sports massage helped. I will be careful though on Saturday. My goal is to finish!
sounds like a plan. stop/walk if the IT ban is acting up. you don't get points for doing the miles if you end up not being able to flex the knee at the end!! If you can fit it into your schedule you should consider some of the fancy PT stuff. Iontophoresis could help--def won't hurt ... you must be a little better if you wan to do 12! OR you are in Denial!! HA!
