Hi from the Greensboro Sportsplex.

Most have probably heard by now, but I developed pneumonia and have
been hospitalized for the past couple weeks. I am making a slow
recovery but hope to be back out at the gym beginning next week.
Thanks to all those who have sent well wishes, visited, and called. It
meant a lot to me.

I have had plenty of time to think about the Sportsplex and we have had
a great season this year. I hope the tournaments have been fun for
everyone and hope that the leagues, while somewhat disorganized at
times, provided some good weekly play for those seeking it. The youth
league seemed to be a success, though I did not get to spend the time
with it I had hoped to,

Just a quick update, my period as manager is coming to an end soon, as
we bring on a full time manager for the facility. I eagerly await that
day. I feel a need to apologize to everyone for my lack of attention
given to volleyball this year. I came here to begin a program for us
and see it continue to grow, but once taking over the manager's
position at the facility, volleyball became a low priority. Moving
forward, I promise to put the focus back on our sport and programming.
We have accomplished great things together in our first year as the
Greensboro Sportsplex, and I look forward to many other great things in
the future.

As for summer programming, I know JO and USAV are winding down and it
won't be long til everyone is outdoors enjoying the 2-man season and it
will be lonely around here, but on those rainy days or nights when you
just want to play some ball, keep us in mind. We do intend to run a
summer high school volleyball league for teams interested in practicing
some out of season. We will be getting information out on this soon.
We will also offer Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon open play year
round.

Finally, we will be bringing back the skills clinics every Tuesday
night from 5:30-7 p.m. for the summer for anyone wanting to work on
skills. These clinics are open to kids and adults. Come out and join
us.
