Happy Wednesday!

As some of you may have already heard, I'm going to be taking it all off to help raise money for charity again this year. Before you get too queasy, don't worry, it's just my hair. I'm participating in the St. Baldricks charity head shaving event on March 7th at Napper Tandy's Irish Pub in downtown Raleigh. It's a really great cause that benefits childhood cancer research, with a large % of the donations actually going to research, not foundation expenses. (corporate sponsors help with the administrative expenses)

This is my 3rd year participating in a St. Baldrick's event and I've really set the bar high this time - I'm shooting for 5,000 in donations, but I'm confident we can make it! Last year's goal was 2,500 and we got over 3,200 (130% of that goal!!!) so I think 5k is possible. Any donation you make, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use. Who doesn't love helping kids and hate cancer?!?!? I know I sure do!

I'm not sure of the actual head shaving time yet, probably later in the afternoon, but it'd be great to have you out there, joining in the fun. I'll keep you posted as the day gets closer. I know with people spread out all over the place, there's no way some people can make it but please consider making a donation to help the cause, whether you can come see me get shorn or not.

To donate online, just go to http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/shavee_info?ParticipantKey=2009-56599 and you'll get to check out a really sweet haircut on me. Don't forget that your donations are tax deductible, so it's a win-win situation.  Again, no donations are too small and they're all greatly appreciated! Even if you just skip a lunch one day and donate $5, that'll help!

Check out the pics from '08 - Just go to 'find a participant' change the year to '08, then search for Vaughn to see the mean green machine from last year. I'm trying to convince my boss to let me 'turn it green' again this year as soon as we reach 5k, so you could help with that. Imagine how much fun you could make of me if I have green hair for a whole month!

Thanks in advance for your support, both moral and financial.

Vaughn
