Re: back in action

Going through the old messagers for info I see I never got round to
replying.

Anyway thanks everyone for the info (Dolomitibus, trenitalia website,
etc). I'm booked in at the Mesdi in Arabba for almost a week before
the even, so I'll be out exploring, weather permitting.

The journey home is interrupted by a short stopover inVerona, as it
works out about the same price to stay in Verona 1 night and fly out
of Brescia next day, as it would to go straight away to Venice or
Treviso airports and fly from there – such is the rip off attitude of
the "budget" airlines to anything close to Venice.

I've just changed my staus from cyclo-turistica to cyclo-amatore.
That was quite difficult as very few Italians can understand my
Yorkshire accent but I eventually succeeded with an e-mail and an
Italian dictionary.

HalfBoard. They have a special brochure on cycling routes (6) and the
hotel-manager is a cycling fanatic who runs tours around that area. I
counted the major passes and climbs at 16 in that area. Another hotel
is Hotel Mesmi which again is very good. They charge 5euro more but
have a gym also. I don't think the Hotel Compolongo is open in May.
I took your advice and approach Arabba from the Belluno rather than
the Bolzano side. There is a direct bus from Belluno fairly
frequently and trains run to Vittoria-Veneto I think.

English. Thee must be around 50 books on the Tour de France.
