This web site attempts to feature the most significant mountain road
climbs in the southern Appalachian Mountains. The map and elevation
data should give "the climber" a good idea of the climbs that exist
in this beautiful area.

I am running a pre-release of this site as we are getting full swing
into the spring event rides. I have been working on this project for
the last 2 months with the minimal time that I actually have off the
bike and away from work. I had hoped to have it completed before the
Assault on the Carolinas, but that didn't happen. I definitely
wanted to have a version of it released before the Tour de Cashiers,
Tour de Georgia and the Town Mountain Hill Climb. (Please see the 3D
visualizations of Brasstown Bald and Town Mountain Hill Climb.) DSL
or cable internet service is highly suggested to fully view the site
as it is image intensive.

In the future, there will hopefully be a more formal release of the
web site with an intuitive web address and more pleasing cosmetic
appeal....maybe by the end of the year.

I had always gathered information for myself when scoping out a climb
or a ride. As I developed a collection of information and discovered
various geo-spatial resources, I thought it be cool to compile and
share it with the cycling community and visitors to our area. So
here it is! Enjoy! I will still find much gratitude even if the web
site is not found to be useful as I have originally hoped.

I will continue to update the site throughout the next several
months. I appreciate your feedback. I have tried to highlight the
regional cycling events which feature the climbs I have included on
the web site. So, maybe you should check out the climbs that I have
listed for the Tour de Cashiers, Tour de Georgia and Town Mountain
areas. There are many more as well.
