Peak District Gran Fondo (UK) & Marmotte   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2700 of 3191 |
Hi all, I've just ridden my first event of this kind - and it was local to me in
the UK!
The event was a 100mile ride taking in many of the favourite cycling climbs in
the Peak District National park (UK) near Manchester/Sheffield. Climbs included;
Cat & Fiddle, Long Hill, Snake Pass, Winnats Pass, Axe Edge and Gun Hill.
Apparently this event has only been running for 3 years and was started
following the organiser's ride in the Etape du Tour.
There is info about at at;

http://www.wheelers.org/

I enjoyed it thoroughly and the weather was hot and sunny - nice preparation for
the Marmotte which I'm riding for the first time in a few weeks.
Is anyone else doing the Marmotte? It would be good to get a few tips or
possibly meet during the week?
Thanks,
Darren
