I just wanted to introduce myself to the list. During the week I live in the
Los Angeles area. On the weekends I go up to my cabin in the local mountain to
do some much more exciting cycling.
Yesterday I did the Ride Around the Bear century, which climbs up to Onyx Summit
at 8400 feet in the local San Bernardino Mountains.

This is one of my favorite climbs in the Los Angeles area. I've done it a
couple of times since putting together this webpage.

In mid-May I was going to do some "light touring" in the French Alps, but I had
to cancel due to illness. That time of year was probably a little early for
some of the high passes anyway.
