Having just ridden most of the big hills on the South Island of NZ {in Feb.}
carrying tent, sleeeping bag etc {just less than 20 kilos} I can't think of a
better way to go. It only take a few days to get used to the weight. I must say
that almost all the other cyclists I saw were carrying much more than I. Steve
