Shop in town is Zak’s Boardroom (715 W. 4th Ave, Open Tues-Sat 11-7) Nice location and cool crew working there. They are pretty new to kiting themselves, but I spoke with Zak and they are very interested in learning as much as possible about kites. They are a “Skate/Snow/Wake/Surf/Kite” shop that currently carries a few Ozone kites in the shop and my guess is that they will eventually team up with Tom Fredricks to offer some instruction as well. Definitely a great idea to try to team up with them for some kind of sponsorship.
Hoping to get my brother James to come up from Colorado to kite with us this summer, I’m sure he would throw a few cool moves to make us feel like newbies. I would love to take him on a mini AK summer Kite tour and spend a few days in Homer at the event for sure. Lemme make some calls and emails about some level of sponsorship for the event from Ozone. BTW, check out his grassroots snowkitemag...www.driftsnowkitemag.com
Everything else is sounding great you guys. I will do some brainstorming here and see what else I can come up with to help. I ran out of time last summer to really do anything for you, but perhaps I can be more help this go around.

Hey Traveler,
You have some great ideas for the fest. I've designed a bunch of T-shirts over the years and can try to come up with some ideas if you want.
I'll plan on bringing the the boat down, since we'll be coming down from Anchorage, we may be able to bring a tent down, depending on how big it is, I just have a 4Runner. If we want to purchase food in bulk from Costco, we could bring that down too.
Also there is a new board shop downtown Anchorage that's been advertising that they have kite and surf stuff. I'll try to swing by sometime, they might be interested in sponsoring something.
Looking forward to getting out more next summer, maybe trying snowkiting this winter.
