David,

Best way to get into tohe sport is by taking lessons. Do the
proper lessons such as the ones that give zero to hero lessons
meaning three dyas and getting you going by the end of the three.
Places such as Corpus, S.Padre,Haterras,Gorge etc. give great lessons.

Make sure that your instructor is PASA or IKO certified
preferrably IKO since with the IKO you will be given an IKO level 1
card tyhat means you have finished a course but more importatntly can
get worwide coverage Liability insurance through IKO for only 89
$...trust me it is a good idea to get it for sooo many reasons.

When you have taken lessons and are ready for gear, pls feel free
and get a quote from me while shopping around.
