tim,
i just joined this msg board today & can hardly stay in my seat
reading the posts about trips! i just learned about this sport, and
have already purchased a trainer kite. i want to get into the
action this season and not miss a thing. i'm sure you think i'm
ridiculously funny, but and have already strapped my self to
rollerblades and zipped up & down the lakeshore path the whole time
dreaming about getting a real kite & jumping in the lake!
i'm sure i'll eventually find the answer i'm looking for in these
posts, but i would really appreciate any helpful advice or direction
you could give me to fast track my way into the sport.
thanks!
david

While 30 NOAA wind averages show an fractional increase in wind
power in May over April, my kiting/poleboarding logs over 15 years
show May to be pehaps our best kiting month in Chicago. In this
regard, I believe in the old poleboarding adage...."never leave
wind to find wind".... In the years of going to Corpus in April I
can't say I remember missing a day on the water with lots of day I
prayed it would stop blowing so we could get some rest from the
nuclear winds in April that on average blow harder than the North
shore of Maui during that period.
