Horner Park at Irving Park and California might prove a closer
alternative for those who live on the North side of Chicago. Went
there today with Fritz and while the wind died after a few rides,
Horner should work on almost any wind direction and be great with
snow on our prevailing NNW winds in the Wintertime. Horner Park sits
on top of an old garbage dump and has a slight elevation over the
surrounding neighborhood. This gives it a little better windsight
than some of our other parks. Its plenty big for a number of kiters
to ride at the same time.

attraction for me is having Horner so close. It should work for
anyone who uses M regularly in the Summer and lives close by the
lakefront and doesn't want to take the time to drive to the Lobo.
