From: Grant FitzTo: fitzgr@...Sent: Saturday, March 29, 2003 4:29 PMSubject: [kitesnowboarding] Special Notice: Could be the last weekend day for Winter Wind Riding on Lake Simcoe (Ontario)Firstly, I apologize if you've got this twice (merged lists).
A fellow Wind Rider just called me from De La Salle Park. We've lost about 14 inches of ice in the last week due to the warm weather. We've still got about 8-10 inches of solid ice
. The surface may get a bit harder over night with the freezing temperatures. I'm told that bladed boards and ice boat type devices will ride well on this surface as do skiis, and snowboards.
The place to be for Sunday is De La Salle Park, where the Inaugural Lake Simcoe Winter Wind Festival was held this season.
If you need directions to De La Salle Park, http://www.geocities.com/fitzgr/events/ or you can ask Natasha
