Ozone Snowkite Freeride Tour @ Skyline   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1243 of 1771 |

The last week went off at Skyline, with 30 kiters from all over the
country converging at one of the most pristine alpine
environments. Ozone and Dakine hosted Snowkite demos with kites
and harnesses, and participants included rangers from the local
Forest Service office as well as newcomers hungry to try out our
emerging sport.

The sickness spread as some of the veteran riders began to exploit
the hills of Skyline with massive airs, I mean like huge hovering 10-
40 second airs.

Others enjoyed the Freeriding, with miles of open terrain in every
direction. From the parking area, we went on a 8 mile cross
country tour, heading down the Skyline ridge, and then connecting it
with a couple more ridglelines to complete a sailing type of
triangle course.

Skyline has been used by locals for a couple of years, but the cat
is out of the bag now. The potential has now been tapped and the
place is set to be a Snowkite mecca for years to come.
Freeride or Freestyle, Skyline rocks!

Windzup,
Brian Schenck
