I hope all is well with you and yours. I
expect that the arrival of your new little bundle of joy is getting pretty
close now. Pretty exciting stuff.
Thanks for the heads up on the auction. We
are still wanting to purchase the sled. Sorry for the delay in getting back to
you on the shipping. We had agreed to offer to split the cost with you but my
buddy Mike said that he knows a fella in the shipping business, through his
work, and was going to ask him if he could help us out somehow. Mike got real
busy and it fell through the cracks. We were in fact talking about it last
night and he is going to call the guy today. Hopefully he will have some good
news for us but even if he doesn’t we are willing to kick in and extra
150 towards shipping.
I will let you know what Mike finds out.
Let me know what you think.
Best regards,
Ross

Hey Grant,
I would really be interested to know how many sheckles I need to save
to purchase one of those babies. I have looked for it on the Canadian
Wind Rider price list but couldn't find it. We would appreciate more
info on cost and availability.
Thanks,
Ross
Hey Craig
When you coming to the Northern Half with the latest one of those?
We get way more snow and wind than that :-))

Hey Grant,
Are you planning any demo's this year? I have it in mind that this
would be a great vehicle to carry me & the creature comforts for
winter camping. There is nothing like being in the bush in the
winter but if you are on skis/snow shoes and carrying all your gear
on your back there are some limitations on where you can go but a
kite sled could be like a very fast canoe and that could open up a
lot of territory. I have a GII 15 that I think would provide
adequate power. I downloaded the PL price list from the "Canadian
Wind Rider" site but I don't see the kite sled listed on it. I'd be
interested in knowing a price.
Thanks, Ross

There will be a Peter Lynn Flag about 100-150 yards offshore where
we'll be setting up a base for the day. The wind are forecasted to
be 40-60km/hr from the east and temperatures around the freezing
point.

Well, The jetlag has cleared and I have had time enough to think about
the Icebird testing trip to Greenland, An amazing trip in which we
were almost continually having to adapt our objectives to the
conditions at hand. A surprising trip where I learnt an incredible
amount about polar weather and travel.

The third version of the Kite Sled arrived over the holidays in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We'll be demoing it around Ontario and Quebec over the winter season 2006.
It will be taking it up to Cook's Bay, Lake Simcoe for more testing and demoing until the end of day Jan 22 (likely). After that it will be heading to Ottawa and the surrounding area. We'll post more when we have details.
We're planning on launching from the Parkwoods access point on the east shore of Cook's Bay, Keswick on Monday January 2, 2006. There will be a Peter Lynn Flag about 100-150 yards offshore where we'll be setting up a base for the day. The wind are forecasted to be 40-60km/hr from the east and temperatures around the freezing point.
If you're like to come out, please do or call us at 416.497.wind(9463) Canadian Wind Rider / Peter Lynn Canada.
There will be one arriving in Toronto, Ontario, Canada shortly. It's
leaving New Zealand this week. This will be the third version. It's
being brought to provide further testing and promotion. The ETA is
unknown, but we'll post here when it arrives.
Our winter season just started, as our local Lake Simcoe now has 4-6
inches of snow on top of 4-6 inches of smooth ice and getting thicker.
Yesterday the season started with good winds and about a dozen or so
riders.
Hi Boris

Great stuff if only we could get our hands on one.

Hi Dan
Firstly Sorry for the delay in Replying but there r some good reasons.
We r currently in the process of making the first batch of 3rd
generation of Sleds, the first one was the best ever working snow
buggy, made by us till that date, the second unit was controllable at
some fairly high speed and we r hoping this 3 rd generation will be
even better with less friction, more steer able, robust and
comfortable all of which will make this a better product for end users.
Peter is as I compose this machining up Skies and associated parts for
the runners for a production run of the first units.
To answer some of your questions
The sled should in therory operate just as well as skies as they
proportionately supply the same amount of floatation as a Ski but we
have not tested this yet.
Max Snow depth well we know it will work in 4 and less inches of snow
as to the max depth of snow we have no idea at this point but as above
if it will float it should go.
No one is selling them in Alaska at present.
No one has one of our units in Alaska at present.

Hello all.
My name is Dan Heath. I live in Anchorage Alaska. I have been checking
out the kite sleds online and am very keen to try one. I have some
questions though and if any one can help me out that would great.
1. How do they do in powder conditions?
2. What is the maximum snow depth they operate well in?
3. Anyone in Alaska selling them?
4. Anyone in this group live in Alaska that would be willing to let me
try it?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time
Ah now I see them said the blind man :-))
