Hi there.....just the club I was looking for as I
don't know any other christians who presently practice
martial arts. I am a member of the KDS
(Karate-do-Shotokai) of which there are presently only 3 schools in
the US, most are in the UK where I practice, the
chief instructor and president of the KDS Mitsusuke
Harada is also resident in the UK. I have been
practicing karate for 6 years now and have been a 1st Dan
for a year. As a 1st kyu I was a assistant instructor
at a large school at college, where having the
respect for my grade I was also able firstly able to
witness through my actions as on view to beginners all
the time, but also for what I could do.
Non-christians often view christians as being physically weak
for some reasons, even though as christians we should
strive to be spiritualy and mentally strong firstly,
physical strength can be an advantage too as it can be a
way of getting talking, not that being the strongest
is what karate is all about, but you get what I
mean. This week I have started a new college. My degree
is in health and fitness studies, before that I did
a 2 year degree in sports studies. Which I find of
great benefit as many martial artists and instructors
still practice contraversial and contra-indicated
exercises and stretchs. <br>I must go study, so, so long
