The article next mentions Yoga. Yoga is NOT a
martial art. The Christian should never practice
Yoga.<br><br>In martial arts, we often learn of the religious
systems that have been attached to the martial arts in
Asia. However, knowing about them is not the same as
practicing them, and I daresay that knowing about other
religions can be a very useful tool in evangelism.
Remember, Paul knew of the religion of those who worshipped
the unknown god, and he was able to use that
knowledge to win them to Christ. In the book, _Eternity in
Their Hearts_, the author talks about how every people
group in the world has part of the truth. If we listen
to their stories, traditions, and religious beliefs
carefully, we can find that part of the truth, and then we
can tell them, that that part of their religion is
true, and we have come to tell them the rest of the
story. It actually works a lot better than going in with
sledgehammers condemning everything. I personally know a couple
of Bible translators, and one of the things they did
was write down the stories of the people, in their
own language. A lot of Bible translators do this. It
is very helpful, because they are being all things
to all people so they might win some, as Paul
instructs.<br><br>Finally, the article fails to note that the martial arts
probably originated with the ancient Hebrews, under God's
guidance. This is not widely known, however, so I cannot
fault them for it.<br><br>Overall, they demonstrate
their ignorance, and that is dangerous. They will make
themselves look like fools, and people in the know will
refuse to listen to them.<br><br>Pat
