Now here's a kick bike design I like:

http://www.effendibikes.de/11401.html

The flat deck design (ie. no tubes) means a nice low deck. You might even be
able to add a removable wear plate.

Looks like 2 position drop outs for the rear wheel as well. And the joint design
where the down tube meets the deck looks "hell for stout".

Wish I knew how to read the language on the web site.

Effendi bikes are popular in Europe - you see a lot of them at races.

It's German. Here's a rough, but serviceable computer translation of the
page from Google Language Tools:

You can read about the RTR3 by using Bing's auto translator; the Effendi website also has movies of this hand-made scooter. Go to:  http://www.microsofttranslator.com/Default.aspx for the auto translator, a nifty service.  Jim

Hey, that's a wonderful footbike, road scooter demo video.  I'd like to download it to my IPod, to show to anyone interested in my obsession.  The Bing translator, on first glance, seems an improvement over Google's.  I like the side-by side format.

Thanks, Jim...keep a-kickin'!
