Uh hmm. My experience with folding has been that if there's any tension
on the folding arm, the pin will stick in the hole. It's easy to
unwittingly hold the trikke so that gravity pulls on the part you're
trying to unlock. If you make sure to hold the machine so that there's
no tension on the joint it's much easier to pull the pin out of its
hole.

Have the same problem with my T8C-air (right leg mostly) and keep a
rubber mallet in the garage to "tap" the two side pins when they get
stuck. A real "pain in the arse" some times, so I keep it "unfolded"
mostly (except when I need to transport it).
