Senate Bill 422 has been referred to the Virginia General Assembly Committee on Transportation and needs a show of support from trail users in order for a Virginia Appalachian Trail license plate program to be established in the Commonwealth. Since the hearing will be held this Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 2:00 pm, your attention is needed today.

 

Supporters with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy suggest that you create an email addressed to at-va-tag@... with Virginia AT Tag Program in the Subject line. I am a Virginia resident and support the creation of an Appalachian Trial license tag for the state of Virginia. I understand that purchasing this plate, once available, will cost an additional $25 per vehicle. Please let me know as soon as such a plate is available.
