Dave: I have been pushing this for a couple of years, but Allen and
the rest of the Board do not want to do it. They feel that VBF is the
only organization that represents cyclists. In thinking about this,
maybe both organizations are needed, but we need to work together on
projects like Share Shore Drive Day. Tidewater Bicycle Association and
VBF are co-sponsoring event, so there is no problem if we want to
co-sponsor anything with you. Bill Hart

Thanks, Bill. I sent it to about 200 people here in
KG.
On another question...when will VBF and BikeWalk finally
merge? BikeWalk is doing a great job of promoting activities but you
guys
are all over the government lobbying aspects of these issues but having
two
groups is not efficient and it is confusing for the people. To be well
represented the bicyclists of the Commonwealth should belong to both
groups and
that is not always a reasonable expectation...so, what is the story?
Why
do we not have one voice for bicyclists and pedestrians in the
Commoonwealth of
Virginia?
