Once I get into Oklahoma I am amazed of how many great trails we have. I just wish someone could put ONE flyer together about all of them for the visiting centers. Before moving I wanted to do that but never got around to it. It is the same everywhere. Very few great trails have a maps at the visiting or welcome centers. Local mountain bikes just don't have the time or money.

I stopped at Gallop and it out of this world. It was like no other place I have ridden. The huge rock formations are wild. long trail too. A lot of rock climbers in that area too.
I will put Abq on my list for the return trip. Their trails are tough to find out about at the visiter's centers. So your info is very helpful!
I have been to Sedona before for some road riding. It is very Cool!
Amarillo, Tx hhhhmmmm haven't pass that yet.. Might have to check that out tomorrow.
Thank YOU!

Randall,
Albuquerque has Cedro Peak, Otero Canyon 5-10min off of I-40. Great single track stop at the Ranger station in Tijeras east of ABQ, they can help you out. If you want more info email me back, and when I get home I will scan you some maps out of the guidebook--- very help full to have the maps.
My sister lives in Abq and I take the bikes out there whenever I visit. If you had the time Sedona, AZ is well worth the visit. Gallop, NM is supposed to be awesome, it is 1-5mins off of I-40. --never got the chance to ride there too much snow last Jan.
Amarillo, Tx has Palo Duro Canyon about 45mins off of I-40 well worth the time great single track, smooth fast buttery.

Flagstaff has a pretty good cycling community, I do believe there is a national forest close as well. It's also home of Coconino cycles, and if I'm ever there, I'm gonna go check that guy out and try to soak up some of his knowledge.

Well, to answer my own question, I went hiking at Keystone yesterday, and 90% of it was in very good shape. Unfortunately there were a few very muddy areas that need to dry out yet.

I have had a couple of emails about the special note on the bottom of the Osage
Hills flyer. (less then 3 racers in one category COULD be canceled) I don't
think I have ever did this but Why would any one want to race by them selfs? For
point to win the series? Isn't that kind of a hollow victory? anyway, I don't
plan to canceling any categories without combining it with another category. I
don't want to turn people way. I am just trying to give them a challenge.

KONA KID’S KUP RACE!!!
Sunday November 9th starting at 8:30 AM!!
Bartlesville, Oklahoma got 2.30 inches of rain Wednesday. It is very windy today
and it will be even windier tomorrow. The wind should help dry the MTB course
out. I looked at the forecast and it looks like no more rain until after Sunday
So the Osage Hills Mountain bike race Nov. 9th is still planned as normal.
I will be out at the race course Saturday checking to see if there are any trees
on the trail. I will also make sure the leaves do not make the trail disappear
in places.
Looks sunny Saturday and mostly sunny Sunday.
Randall Clayborn
This is sad indeed. I wish you the best
and thanks for everything you have done for Oklahoma mtb.

I just wanted to inform
everyone that I am moving out-of-state and will NOT be promoting The Osage
Hills Mountain bike race in 2009. My co-worker Corey will be too busy taking
care of the shop to promote the event next year as well.
If anyone is interested in taking that race over I could give you some
important dates and contacts and guide then though the process. It could be a
fund raiser for any group: Boy scouts, church group, etc.
It does help that you be involved in mountain biking. Because You must ride
or walk the trail to mark it and see if there are any safety issues.
Please contact me anytime as most of the promoting of a race can be handle by
email. It doesn't take much time and will promote healthy activities in our
state.
Came out and watch this event Nov 9th 2008!

Randall---I' m sorry you're moving out of state. Oklahoma is losing a great asset to Mtn. Biking. I so much appreciate your planning and hard work in building the Keystone and Osage trails. They truly are very fine trails !!
You will be missed !!

I just wanted to inform everyone that I am moving out-of-state and will NOT be promoting The Osage Hills Mountain bike race in 2009. My co-worker Corey will be too busy taking care of the shop to promote the event next year as well. If anyone is interested in taking that race over I could give you some important dates and contacts and guide then though the process. It could be a fund raiser for any group: Boy scouts, church group, etc. It does help that you be involved in mountain biking. Because You must ride or walk the trail to mark it and see if there are any safety issues. Please contact me anytime as most of the promoting of a race can be handle by email. It doesn't take much time and will promote healthy activities in our state. Came out and watch this event Nov 9th 2008! Thanks, Randall Clayborn Adventure Bicycle Center Claybear39@yahoo. com
