Brief Trail update and a Cautionary Tale   Message List

I'd really like to thank the following folks who gave up 4 hours on what has been the only sunny day we've seen in a while to help with the trails at keystone.  I think the only person who actually got a ride in was Randall and he rode from the trailhead back to Bartlesville (!) after the trail day.  How many miles did you end up with Randall?  We had a really good turnout for a KORS trailday!

We were able to clear the corridor and start working on the tread for what will be a 1/2 mile addition to the advanced loop.  The entrance and exit to the trail look like they're going to be pretty technical but the rest of the new section looks relatively smooth and rock free (for Keystone!).  I think it'll be a pretty fun addition to the trail system.  We made much better progress than I anticipated and we didn't have enough tools to really start with the tread work be we still got a lot done.  Sorry about that.  Anyway, we're probably somewhat less than 1/2 way to completion including reclaiming the old, muddy downhill.

The next offical KORS trail day is 3/26.  I'd like to try to schedule another mini-trail day before then to keep up the momentum on this section and finish it this winter, if possible.  I'll post something later on.

Thanks to Randall and his bike shop for donating patch kits to everybody who came out.

Now for the bad news.  After the trail day, my wife came out to walk around with the dogs and while we were gone, her car was broken into and her wallet and cell phone were stolen.  Her car was blocked from view from the road by my truck, but it's a remote parking lot so I'm not sure that would have made any difference if it wasn't.  It's a good reminder to lock valuables in the trunk (if you have one) or take them with you or probalby best of all, don't bring them out.  Thanks to Dan from Stillwater, who saw Valerie's car and rode back in to find us and let us know.  That was very much appreciated.  So, be careful out there.
