Kent Ravens 56-16 Bedford Tigers

When the league leaders came to town many were predicting a close run
game that could go either way. However after a scintillating
performance from the Ravens, the Tigers were never really in the
game. The Ravens ran in eleven tries and totally dominated the match
from start to finish.

The match started at a fast pace and the Ravens scored in the first
five minutes through a try from Andy Reeve. The Tigers then scored a
try against the run of play to take the lead. The lead was soon
regained though through another try from Andy Reeve, and almost
immediately Andy Reeve scored again to secure his hat trick. Aiden
Oakley kicked the goal to make the score 14-6 to the Ravens. At this
point it looked like the Ravens might run away with the game but the
Tigers showed some fighting spirit and scored a second try to make
the score 14-12. Just when the game looked like it was becoming a
tight and tense encounter, skipper Aiden Oakley burst free to score a
try and then kicked the goal.

Just before half time, Joe Oxford took the game by the scruff of its
neck and scored two quick fire tries, with Aiden Oakley kicking both
goals to make the half time score 32-12 to the Ravens.

The second half continued mainly in the same vein as the first half
but the Ravens were even more in control of this half as the Tigers
began to tire. Andy Reeve scored his fourth and fifth tries of the
game either side of a try from Tom White, with Aiden Oakley adding
four more points with two successful kicks at goal. With the score at
48-12 to the Kent Ravens, the Bedford Tigers scored their third and
last try of the game which was scant consolation for them.

Tom White then scored his second try from another burst through the
Tigers' defence, and Josh Madden completed the scoring on his debut
after being put clear.

So the final score was 56-16 to the Ravens, and some people commented
that this was the best performance from a Kent Ravens side in years.
This win made it three wins on the trot for the Kent Ravens, who now
have three away games on the spin before coming home to Princes Park
Stadium on 19th July at 2.30pm against the Eastern Raiders.
