Skolars Educate the Ravens.

London Skolars 56 vs. 10 Kent Ravens

After coming away from gaining the first point given away from the champions in the Premier, the London Skolars came into this match on a high and the Kent Ravens knew taking on this side at New River Stadium would be a big battle.

Still missing stars Dane Smith, Barry Bigby, Mike Muir and Stuart Leppard to name a few, the Ravens were forced the start the match on the back foot but inspired defending from captain Edward Easter, Daniel Smart and Paul Hyder kept Kent in the match and the sides were just 12 points apart at half time as tries from powerful Daniel King and speedster Thomas Weeks continued to keep the Ravens fighting through the extreme weather conditions that hit the ground in North London. Final score 10-56.

Same venue and at the same time, The reserve grade under the guidance of captain Darren Griffin came up against Southgate Eagles in the London League and at half time the teams were locked at 16 all after scores from the captain, Damian Gaughan and Dave Sylvester who continued his run of scoring every game. However a small squad dented any hopes the Ravens had in the second half within the extreme rain and heavy ground as Southgate ran out winners 40-16

The Junior Ravens under 12s’ run within the London Junior League finally came to an end on Saturday as they came up against favourites West London Sharks away at the semi final stage. Patrick McQuilikin’s squad were let down by a poor opening fifteen minutes, though great performances from Hooker Mylie Jones and Utility Harry Palmer kept the Junior Ravens in the match, however West London ran out eventual winners 28-10 to enter the final.

Next Saturday The Kent Ravens finally return back to Acacia Hall as they take on West London Sharks senior side and the reserves take on Hainault for the third time this season, all starting around noon.
