Special Weather Note:
There is always a chance of severe weather for these runs. We will usually run
in a light rain, but we will NOT meet if there are severe thunderstorms or high
winds (at the time of the run). A little mud here and there is not bad, but
trees or branches falling onto us or lightning zapping near us is not cool.

SATURDAY MORNING:
SATURDAY MORNING, 6:30 AM meeting time, 6:40 starting time:
We will run a 6 to 8-mile trail run loop, starting in Minor Park and continuing
on the Blue River Parkway trails. You will get your feet wet on at least 2 to
river crossings, and multiple stream crossings. "Normal" running shoes work
fine on this trail system. If you want to do multiple loops, that's cool.
Here are the directions to the park:
At the south end of the I-435 loop, take I-435 (east/west) to the Holmes Road
exit. Go south on Holmes to Red Bridge Road (Burger King on left, Amoco &
Phillips 66 on the right). Go left (east) on Red Bridge, and cross the "Red"
bridge. The park entrance is the first right just past the bridge. You will see
a green porta-potty in the parking lot. We call this the "alternate" trail
access to the BuRP Trail System.
Here's a MapQuest map to the entrance to the park:

SUNDAY MORNING, Long Run:
Time: Meet there at 6:30 AM. We'll start running by 6:40 AM.
Special Note:
We are going to hit the MTB trails at Clinton Lake in Lawrence on Sunday, to do
up to 18 miles. You can do less mileage...the trails are well marked; just turn
around at the mile marker of your choice.
We'll be on the North Shore trail system. We'll park in the Overlook Park area
and avoid a State Park Fee. Look for "N 1402 Rd", and the "Army Corp of
Engineers" sign; that's the entrance that you want.
Please bring your own water bottles, TP, sequined leather teddy, or whatever
else you may need or desire. As far as water goes, (AT LEAST) A TWO WATER
BOTTLE SYSTEM works best, for a long run on these trails. You can always fill
your bottles at the campground, if you run the full distance with us.
Afterwards, some of us might go out for a breakfast or lunch. There's
restaurant information at the bottom of this page:
http://www.psychowyco.com/id32.html
We will start by going right onto the "White" trails, and will come back on the
"Blue" trails, starting from Overlook Park, (the Corps of Engineers area on the
upper right side of the map). Trail map:

Do not park in the "State Park Office" area, unless you like to pay user fees.
Directions to North Shore Clinton Lake from KC:
West on I-70
Take Exit 197
South on 10 Highway (E 850 Rd)
Right at Clinton Lake exit
Right onto N 1402 Rd
or
