Dear Students, Teachers and Parents,

I hope everyone is having a good break and enjoying their holidays.
Several people have called to ask about the schedule so here it is:

We are open this week Wednesday the 27th, Thursday the 28th and
Saturday morning the 30th. No Friday competition class till next week.
We are having our New Years Eve sleepover on Sunday night; cost is $30
per child, which covers their meals and entertainment. They should
bring a sleeping bag and prepare for a good time.

We are having Winter Karate Camp all next week for those kids out of
school and would like some additional training and fun. Camp runs
from 8am till 4 pm everyday and they should bring a bag lunch. Cost is
$99 for the entire week. We will be closed Monday night the 1st, but
will re-open Tuesday night for our regular classes.

Belt test will be held on the 6th of January at the main dojo. 9am for
white belts, 9:30 for yellow and orange belts, 10:00 for green, blue
and purple belts and 10:30 for those testing for brown and brown belts
testing for their next brown belt rank.

In January we will be closed January 15th for Martin Luther King Day.

SWAT training - The Superior Winning Attitude Team is designed to help
train assistant instructors, demo team members and leadership skills.
Anyone wishing to become a member of the SWAT team should see their
instructor or talk to Kyoshi.

As everyone knows we have been trying to buy our own building and we
are still having problems with the financing part. We are currently
out of contract on the building but are still trying to make it work.
We may end up giving some of our space to the business next door
within a month or so because we had thought we would have been in the
new building by the end of the year.

As the New Year is upon us, this is the time to establish new goals
and I would encourage everyone to see where they are now and where
they would like to be by the end of next year. In karate, some have
set a goal of brown belt, some to black belt within the next year. All
long term goals start one step at a time.
