Dear students, parents and teachers,
Just a quick note to let you know about some up and coming events. We
have just started back to school in District 20 and District 11
starts
next week. We have been swamped lately getting ready for all the
karate programs this year. I would like to welcome all the new high
school students into the ABBA family.
Most of you guys know we have our annual elite retreat on September
8th, 9th and 10th. Friday night runs from 6 - 9 pm and is geared for
novice and advanced students. We will be covering weapons that night,
so bring your sticks, and other Okinawan weapons if you have them.
Saturday will run from 9 am - 5 pm with a lunch break around noon.
This is open for everyone of all ages. We will break into different
groups and you will be able to personally train with Kyoshi Kennedy,
Shihan Raymond Montoya and Kyoshi Roger Greene. This is a chance of a
lifetime for many of you and you really don't want to miss this
training day. That evening we have our annual awards banquet open to
all our students and their guests. This is a semi-formal event. Cost
for the entire weekend, including training and meals is $99. If you
are just coming to the awards dinner, the cost is $30. Please let us
know if you are planning on coming to the dinner and how many guests
so we can schedule enough meals. To get a registration form for
training, see your Sensei or stop by the main dojo at 2839 Dublin.
Also check out our new web site at www.americanblackbeltacademy.com.
It is still under construction, but soon we will have our entire
curriculuim on this site in written and video format for your
convience thanks to the efforts of Lorrie and Al Todd. Thanks guys.
Till Next week,
Kyoshi
