Students, Teachers and Parents,

Hope everyone had a great long weekend. Several of us just got back
from training in New Mexico with Hanchi Absher. The weather was great
and training even better.

Belt test will be this Saturday, so make sure if you are testing that
you get all 4 stripes on your belt before Friday. Test times are:
White and Yellow belts test at 9 am.
Orange Belts test at 9:15.
Green, Blue and low Purple belts test at 9:30
High Purple testing for brown will be at 10 am.
Testing fees are $25.

There will be a brown and black belt workout this Saturday after
testing ( 10:30 -noon ). All brown belts that have a desire to test
for shodan ho in the fall are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to be there. Sempai
will be assigned to get you ready for the test which will be held on
the weekend of September 9th and 10th. This years guest instructors
will include Hanchi Fred Absher, Kyoshi Dan Kennedy, Kyoshi Roger
Greene, Shihan Victor Banks, Shihan Raymond Montoya and Shihan Gary
Tsutsui. The testing and the Elite training with these Masters will
be at the LeBaron hotel.This will be the first year that we are going
to open up Black belt testing to the general public.

Word of the week - Chime
Chime, also known as Chi Sao in Chinese is the art of sticking to
your opponent once contact has been made. This technique allows an
advanced practitioner to be able to feel what their opponent is going
to do and react to it without having to see the technique. This
advanced technique is usually taught after brown belt in our
organization.
