Hope everyone had a great Spring Break. Thanks to the help of several
people we almost got the floor completed at the main dojo. It is
looking good but is still not complete so bear with us this week as
we finish our new floor and spring-cleaning.
There will be not classes this Friday due to our competition team
going to Vail for the Jujitsu Championships. For those interested,
there is a tournament in Denver on the 15th of April. This is the
first Sanctioned event of the year and all points earned will go
towards the State Championships and end of the year banquet.
Registrations need to be in by this Friday if you are planning on
competing.
We will also be hosting an event here in Colorado Springs on May 6th.
Hope everyone plans on helping with that event or competing. It is
important that we put on a good event because the Colorado Karate
Federation is looking at us to either host the State Championships
this year or the awards banquet.
We will have a special guest visiting our dojo on Tuesday the 18th of
April. Sensei Kobayashi, from California will be coming by a doing a
seminar on Okinawan Goju at 8 PM. Cost for the seminar is only a $20
donation to help cover his travel expenses. This seminar would be
great for anyone thinking about competing or anyone interested in the
Naha katas from Okinawa. If interested, please sign up at the front
desk or tell your Sensei.
We will be also hosting a Kubotan seminar at the north school from 1
€ '¶
3 on the 22nd of April. This is a free self-defense keychain seminar
but if you want to buy a kubotan they are $10. This seminar is open
to American Black Belt Academy students, parents and invited guests.
Hope this helps update you of this month€ '²s events and as always
if I
can be of assistance please don€ '²t hesitate to let me know. My
