Louie,
I had really planned to go to Luneta Easter Sunday but things came up, didn't
get to see you guys. I've made sure about this Sunday though and I hope I
remember to bring Tony's old passport as that may be needed to get him a new
one.
See you guys,
Romy

Off hand, the main activity, I think, you can help out with is to
convince Tony to at least get his passport done. I have his old
passport but can't get him to get his NSO and present himself at the
DFA.
Both Serge in France and Roy Harris in San Diego have been after Tony
to go and visit with them. Especially with Roy, there's a major way
that he can promote Ilustrisimo through Tony and actually expected
Tony to be able to make it last February for seminars in San Diego
and Connecticut.
I did this but I am not the material that the audience want. I have
the know how and skill but cannot present in the way that Tony does.
He is a teacher. I am not. I am hoping that you will be able to
perusade him and get him out of his shyness to present Ilustrisimo to
the world instead of the various proponents who have been trying to
do so.
I am sorry that my Sundays have been occupied by attending to clients
who only have the weekends for therapy. I'll try to make it to Luneta
more often.

Romy

Hello friends,
Just to let you people know that we are in the process of arranging
for either of Tony Diego or Romy Macapagal to visit Australia late
August/September 2006. Duration is about 1 month. There will be a
series of workshops.
Warmest regards,
John chow
Gentlemen,
I appreciate all of your sentiments to get Tony travelling and teaching. It will
be mutualy beneficial to all.
Right now, we are working on Tony's passport requirements which involve proving
that he is a Pillipine citizen. This may appear simple but as mentioned
previously, Tony's birth and baptismal records are unretrievable. He was born
about the end of WWII in a war ravaged Manila that was flattened by carpet
bombing and large conflarations.
While Tony has an old passport, it was acquired at a time when rules were not so
strict as now(brought about by terrorism, illegal immigration, etc.) imposed by
first world countries.
A liaison man and a lawyer have been engaged for this document reconstruction,
after which, passporting is a simple three day job. Then there will be the
matter of visas for the countries to be visited, all of which are uptight
concerning possible illegal immigration.
To this end, any host must be prepared to guarantee the return of Antonio R.
Diego to the Phillipines on the expiry of visa of the host country. This must
contain an undertaking that the host will supervise movement and travel and stay
24 hours with Tony. A commitment to provide board, lodging, and other needs is
comforting to the host country also.

John, As your student, I am all for helping to bring Tony to Melbourne for seminars and am willing to contribute personally to bring him here as well as arranging with Nino Pillar and other styles to have a few seminars. There are also schools in Geelong and some other styles at other universities in Australia that will jump at the chance to arrange seminars.

I plan to discuss that matters with Tony in a few weeks.
As far as i am concern opening this mailing list to variant of the Ilustrismo style is not a good option. I notice that in the past many tensions
arose around our style as it became fashionable. I despise these attitudes and i fear that for many people, Martial art is just a business like another. I have often encounter people like that and i became more cautious about people year after year.
On the matter of helping Tony. I will continue to do what i always did : send him money on a regular basis, or bring him money whenever i see him. I have to arrange things in order to have this done on a regular basis. For the past years i've been able to send roughly 100 euros a month. Some years less, some years more... I plan to increase that amount to roughly 200 by next october. If people around here contribute just 20 dollars a month we can garanty Tony a decent living. I am teaching for free and i will continue that way, so this money comes directly from my work. My students are poor but they will contribute at their level to help Tony.

Shamim can host the UK side. Serge can host the France side. I heard we have somebody in Germany? True? Please extend him the invitation to join us. Josh takes care of Canada. Roy Harris takes care of USA.
If required, I will take Tony to Malaysia! :):):) Tony asked me to set up and train a Malaysian team to take part in the Aean

Mang Romy, can you please press on with effort to get Tony his passport please? Thanks in advance. :):):)
My club is very small. But if Tony comes, I will invite other martial arts schools (Karate, Kungfu, Tai Chi, etc) to join in the seminars. I am starting to get active in the martial art federation now. I have just been invited to be a committee member of the Australian Kungfu & Wushu Federation. I think we will not make a loss and can give Tony some money to take home. :):):)

Hello,
Just wanted to say hello to everyone.
Mang Tony, Mang Romy and Josh should remember me, I came down with
Shamim in 2004. I am one of his students, my name is Abul Kalam.
It would be good to see Mang Tony / Mang Romy stopover in London for
seminars/classes (if the round the world trip goes ahead).
I hope that all of you are well and in good health.
My warmest regards to you all...
Abul Kalam.
Good to hear from you, and to know that yoyu are thinking similar. I hope mang Romy can get man Tony a passport soon. Fall 2006 is just 3 months away. I would be interested in September 2006.
Can hold a few workshops for him. I hope if this succeeds, then we ask him to do a round-the-world trip every year.
Warmest regards, John Chow

The question is - how would you, as instructors in Western countries, like to sponsor workshops for Tony Diego?
2nd question - Tony Diego does not have a current pasport. Can somebody assist him in getting one please? Romy? Tommy?
3rd question is When? I suppose Tony wants to spend a few months taking it easy and 'setting up' his new life. So that will be end of the year at the earliest.

John,
The lottery part of the dream is a sure indication it is Tatang. He liked to
gamble a bit, especially on cockfights. The mourning or burial rites may be a
message to treat his Legacy with more respect and with reference to him. Many of
us have been self-centered lately and have corrupted the very Art that we are
trying to preserve whole.
Perhaps this is a call for a re-examination of what we are doing. We could be
getting lost. EGOs, the small selves. may be using KI to promote themselves
instead of DEVELOPING themselves thru KI.
Why you? Well, because you are writing a book about KI and are serious and
sincere about the task. You want solid facts and accurate presentation. That may
be more important than listing his name in a ritual you have lost interest in.
romeo
Dear all,
I used to dream of Tatang in the 1980s when I first heard of him. But
I had not dreamt of him since he passed away.
I had a dream about Tatang this Monday (29 May 2006) night.
He came to me and asked me to help him buy lottery! And then later,
he came again and handed me a piece of paper with Chinese writing
which he asked me to interpret for him. I asked my mother and she
explained it was a burial rite or for mourning. That's the dream.
I had been putting Tatang's name in our Buddhist 'Liberation'
ceremonies for the 'Hungry Ghost" month in the Chinese temples for a
number of years, and I did not do it for the past 2 years beacuse I
felt that the temple was 'going nowhere' so I withdrew my financial
support. Maybe Tatang wants me to put his name in again.

Dear friends,
If you Kalis Ilustrisimo instructors under Tony Diego & Romy
Macapagal) have a website, please submit to me so that I can put into
our links here.
At the moment, this group is only for students of Tony Diego and Romy
Macapagal, because we want to keep it Kalis Ilustrisimo and not
variants of the art. Tony Diego has indicated to me who the Kalis
Ilustrisimo practitioners are worldwide in November 2005, and there
are not too many (about 20 only). He and Romy have open doors to
other students of Tatang who wish to update their art and thus be
Kalis Ilustrisimo.
If you know of any other Kalis Ilustrisimo instructors around the
world who fit into Tony Diego's idea of Kalis Ilustrisimo, please send
me their website URL.
I am thinking of dropping by Manila in early July maybe the first 2
weeks of July to see Tony Diego & Romy Macapagal.

Hello,
A warm welcome to all enquirers.
This yahoogroup is meant for discussion and propagation of Kalis
Ilustrisimo.
I have created this forum with the intention that Kalis Ilustrisimo
practitioners all over the world have an easy forum to communicate and
discuss Kalis Ilustrisimo.
This website also serves as means of raising the profile of Kalis
Ilustrisimo and reaching out to the general public.
If you are teaching a class or workshop on Kalis Ilustrisimo, please
feel free to advertise the event here.
I urge Kalis Ilustrisimo instructors to join us and contribute to this

I request Kalis Ilustrisimo instructors with websites to exchange
reciprocal URL links with this forum as well as each other's websites.
I have provided a link to my own website on this forum. Please come
join me.
As to what is Kalis Ilustrisimo:- The escrima of Antonio 'Tatang'
Ilustrisimo (1900 - 1997) taught in its entirety and without
substantial modifications. Most of the practitioners would be
students of Tony Diego and Romy Macapagal.
