Re: [kalis-ilustrisimo] Get Tony Diego to travel overseas for workshops
Gentlemen,
I appreciate all of your sentiments to get Tony travelling and teaching. It will
be mutualy beneficial to all.
Right now, we are working on Tony's passport requirements which involve proving
that he is a Pillipine citizen. This may appear simple but as mentioned
previously, Tony's birth and baptismal records are unretrievable. He was born
about the end of WWII in a war ravaged Manila that was flattened by carpet
bombing and large conflarations.
While Tony has an old passport, it was acquired at a time when rules were not so
strict as now(brought about by terrorism, illegal immigration, etc.) imposed by
first world countries.
A liaison man and a lawyer have been engaged for this document reconstruction,
after which, passporting is a simple three day job. Then there will be the
matter of visas for the countries to be visited, all of which are uptight
concerning possible illegal immigration.
To this end, any host must be prepared to guarantee the return of Antonio R.
Diego to the Phillipines on the expiry of visa of the host country. This must
contain an undertaking that the host will supervise movement and travel and stay
24 hours with Tony. A commitment to provide board, lodging, and other needs is
comforting to the host country also.
