Fellow Martial Artists:
In honor of the 35th Anniversary of the Kajukenbo Self-Defense
Institute of Vallejo the members of the school have decided to throw
a full day seminar covering the Kajukenbo Alphabet on Saturday,
August 9th, 2003.
These Alphabet techniques are the ones Sijo Emperado taught back
in Hawaii during the 50's. Aleju Reyes learned them before coming to
the mainland where he in turn, began teaching his students, one of
which was Professor Joe Davis, his 3rd Black Belt. Professor Davis,
has been kind enough to teach them to our school and we thought this
would be a great ocassion for everyone interested to learn these
valuable and historical techniques. This exclusive Black Belt
training will be conducted by Sigung Mitch Powell, a 7th degree with
the Vallejo school, and overseen by Professor Davis. There will also
be training sessions for underbelts, children and teens ages 8-16
The following day, Sunday August 10th, there will be a BBQ
picnic at a local park. Sijo Adriano Emperado, founder and creator
of the system and Grand Master DeChi have consented to the attend the
festivities on both days.
Anyone interested in helping Grand Master Bautista and the
school celebrate this important milestone in the school's history,
