Aloha! Greetings, from myself, Grandmaster "Uncle" Max Togisala of
Las Vegas, Nevada, to all of you in the Kajukenbo family and those of
you still in KSDI of Hawaii! I represent KSDI of San Jose,
California, Aurora, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada under Sijo Adriano
D. Emperado's KSDI of Hawaii. I want to give credit to all of you
who have made Kajukenbo what it is today by thanking you.

My late teacher, Senior Grandmaster Joe Halbuna passed away September
25th, 2002. I want to keep his legacy alive and plan to do just
that. I will also strive to keep Sijo Adriano Emperado's legacy
vibrant and at the forefront of Kajukenbo's growth. With the help
and support of all grandmasters, professors, sigungs, sifus,
instructors and students I will strive to take Kajukenbo to the next
level.

I invoke your loyal support to assist me in accomplishing two goals
that I believe are critical in attaining the ultimate goal of
ensuring the strong unity & positive growth of Kajukenbo:

1) Keep all Kajukenbo family members from around the world firmly
united towards a single, common direction under the KSDI of Hawaii
banner.
2) Strengthen the integrity of the Kajukenbo system and in so doing
nurture the honor inherent in it and foster the respect it
deserves.

With Sijo Adriano Emperado's blessings and wishes of success in more
closely uniting the Kajukenbo family we have started a Kajukenbo
Council, consisting of myself, Grandmaster Emil Bautista of Vallejo,
California, Grandmaster Ted Sotelo of Fremont, California, Professor
Curtis Arrayan of Waiawa, Hawaii and our new Kajukenbo Senior
Grandmaster, George Kaanana of Maui, Hawaii.
We invite Kajukenbo grandmasters and professors who have been active
in Kajukenbo for at least 35 years to please join us on the Council.
We need Council members from all over the world, especially Europe
and South and Central America to participate as Council members so as
to assist in spreading news of the Council's activities, help unite
Kajukenbo practitioners and guide them in a common direction.
We will regularly communicate with one another and work to strengthen
Kajukenbo through the close unification of all its family members and
the preservation of its integrity as a system. There are many other
issues and details that must be addressed but with your help and
support I am confident that we can tackle them for the benefit of
Kajukenbo.

We must train together, work together, pray together and play
together. I know that we are spread throughout the world but with
your help and support I will work to strengthen the integrity of the
Kajukenbo system and unite us closer than ever. Communication is
vital to a thriving and growing Kajukenbo system. So! I hope to
hear from YOU! I need YOUR input! The Council needs to hear your
ideas, comments and suggestions, both positive AND negative,
regarding your vision for the future of Kajukenbo. We must not
forget our roots or where we came from. I will strive to nurture the
individual respect and loyalty of all Kajukenbo practitioners and I
emphasize the spirit of Ohana to bring us together. I need you, the
Council needs you and Kajukenbo needs you. All of us, together, can
make a difference towards ensuring that Kajukenbo flourishes all over
the world; together we are one under Kajukenbo!

Meanwhile we must exchange ideas and concepts and acquire evermore
knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, tournaments and
banquets. We must support each other by attending belt tests. I
know there are a lot of Kajukenbo garage dojos, all of you young
Kajukenbo black belts, remember, knowledge is power, so please
respond. Please pray for God to guide the Kajukenbo Council. Please
take an active role in supporting & assisting the Council and myself
in taking Kajukenbo to the next level, to become the most powerful
and respected Kenpo art in the world. God bless you all and
Kajukenbo forever!

Respectfully,

Kajukenbo Grandmaster "Uncle" Max Togisala
