Hey guys,

just to clarify - training will be held once again at the Burleigh College in Loughborough as per last year.

Training will also only be open to those invited personally - do not make plans unless someone is in touch over the next few days.

Thanks,

Dale

Hey guys,

so everything's been a bit quiet on the Western front since EYUC with regards to the U20s, but behind the scenes we've been hard at work to start preparing for the season ahead.

First off, the people you need to know -

Nick Sampson (fuzzy_bear36@...) - Team Manager
Dale Walker (dalewalker4@...) - Head Coach

The assistant coaches from 2009 (Mark Penny and Josh Coxon Kelly) will be helping out the team as well, but at this stage of the year they won't be involved (because they'd like some weekends off!)

We are not going to be holding open tryouts - the reason being that unless some unknown superstar comes through the ranks and makes his mark, we planned in 2009 to build for a team for 2010. Players invited to the trainings are:
  • U20s from 2009 (firsts and seconds)
  • U17s from the gold medal winning team at Europeans*
  • Players invited at coaches discretion
*This is still only available to select U17s from that team. The team contained a lot of very young players who are not ready for the U20s. We will be in touch.

The first training will be on the 12/13th December. The training will be from 12:00 till 16:00, accomodation will be provided as per usual. The Sunday will feature a mixed hat tournament with the GB Junior Women as the season is very young!

The trainings will run exactly like last year including costs - each player needs to bring £15 for the session, and provide consent forms if you are under 18. A media release form will be needed as well at this first session. Players without both will be ineligible to play at training.

Any questions, e-mail me. If you are planning on attending the session, please e-mail Nick to confirm your place.

Thanks,

Dale Walker

Just a quick email to remind people that the junior women's indoors takes
place on Saturday 5th December at Bishop Heber High School, Chester Road,
Malpas, Cheshire. SY14 8JD. Games will not start before 10am and will be
over by 5pm.

The cost is £30 per team. Cheques need to be made payable to Bishop Heber
High School and posted to Kevin Lowe at 15 Normanston Road, Oxton,
Birkenhead. CH43 5SB.

So far we have had interest from

Ocelots (2 teams - Cheshire)
Arctic (3 or 4 teams - Sutton Coldfield)
Hyzer Chiefs (Edinburgh)
Psychedelic Rhinos (Stourport)
Flux (Leicester)
6ffu (Farnborough)
Evolution (Warwick)

With possibles from Airbadgers (Exeter) and Thundercatch (Gosport). We've
never had more than 6 teams play in this tournament but maybe this year
we'll have more.

Junior women need to be under 19 to qualify. Girls are allowed to pickup for
a team so long as their usual team is not playing. Please email me if your
team is interested in playing and you're not on the list, or if you need to
pickup for a team.

Kevin.

Lookfly have a load of shirts they need to get rid of. They are single
colour shirts and most tend to be small or extra small so would suit year 7s
and 8s. They would be ideal as an away strip for an existing team or a
simple first strip for a new team. Ocelots will certainly be putting in an
order for 15 shirts in a similar way that Airbadgers used to have a set of
shirts owned by the club rather than bought (and customised) by the
individual players. If you are interested, contact Lookfly direct on
allison@.... Here's the email she sent me earlier today...

--

We have a stack of ready-made Lookfly Lite shirts in single colour at the
moment that we are trying to clear. They are mainly XS and S sizes, so would
be perfect for juniors. They are men's size and 1 inch shorter than our
current length (changed to be longer about 3 months ago) but it is a length
that you are probably familiar with. Quantities and sizes are below:

Green - XS 37, S 1, M 3, L 3, XL 15
Grey - XS 17, S 28, XL 8
Burgundy - XS 40, S 33, XL 33
Red - XS 35, M 1, XL 12
Navy - XS 37, S 24, M 1, XL 28
Royal - XS 38, M 1, XL 34
Black - M1, XL 10
Yellow - S 11, L4, XL 4
White - S 33, S 10, XL 21.

Also available is a limited selection of women's cut of the above but we
don't have an inventory of that yet.

We would be happy to see these go for £5.00 per shirt plus customisation
(team prints, numbers and names). Maybe they would make a good alternative
shirt? Are there any other Juniors teams out there that you know of that
could do with a deal right now?

Thanks

Allison
