I know lots of people are busy trying to sort out their transport details
for Plymouth, but I just want to encourage everyone to talk to each other.
Have a look at the junior map at http://kevlowe.co.nr/junior_map.html to see
the email contact addresses of your near by junior teams. All the teams on
Phil's list are on there, so talk to each other to see if you can arrange
joint transport. I know Catch Those/Caldey Grammar are hiring a 49 seater
coach, and so are Ocelots/Maelor School with invites to D-Unit, Gruft and
Stourbridge to join them. With teams coming from Kent, Brighton, Bedford and
West London, it must be cheaper to hire a coach rather than have everyone
try to book train tickets (group reductions just don't exist) and then have
the hassle of trying to find Friday night accommodation. Ocelots are looking
at leaving at midnight, sleeping on the coach and arriving at about 7am.
Alternatively, they will leave at 4am and be there for around 9am. Either
way, no Friday night accommodation needed, and the transport costs in the
region of £20 per head is not excessive.
Kevin.
PS If you want your team details updated on the junior map, email me
personally with web site, email contact, alternative email contact, and any
blurb about yourselves.
PPS The Sports hall manager is very against alcohol (they got rid of the bar
that used to be in the sports centre) so if you really can't survive a night
without a drink, think about booking your team into the youth hostel rather
than sleeping in the sports hall. There are going to be some very tired
people on Saturday night who will just want to sleep from quite an early
time. If you think teachers can be stroppy and unreasonable in the
classroom, just try waking us and our juniors at midnight!
