Hi All
Just a reminder that the deadline for confirming entry and sending payment for
this event is this Friday, 15th June. Monday will be OK, but get on it please.
It seems that the Arctic round robin won't be happening after all, and there
will be others vying for the title of Junior Outdoor Champions - definately
confirmed are 3 lots of Airbadgers (Exeter), Evolution (Leamington),
Thundercatch (Gosport) and perhaps somebody else (I'm at school, the stuff is at
home). There have been expressions of interest from Mowers (the NW), Ocelots
(Chester), NC Hammer (North Allerton) and Brighton Ultimate (er... Brighton),
who are all in the process of getting the money together. Others of you have
been sending emails around - Cambridge, Wakefield, Farnborough.... What's the
score? Are you able to do make it? Do you need any help with anything? I, and
those on the Junior Committee, are keen to enable as many Junior teams and
Juniors as possible to play this tournament. If you aren't sure how to organise
stuff through your school, get in touch; if you nearly have a team but need a
couple of pickups let the eGroup know; if you don't have a team
but want to play let the eGroup know.
Details for cheques etc below. Remember to include your name, team name, contact
details, whether you want to stay Fri/Sat night, and approx numbers. Ta.
It looks like we will be visited on the Sunday afternoon by Lookfly, so players
can stock up on their ultimate gear, and Lookfly have kindly agreed to sponsor a
couple of MVP awards.
It's going to be good....
Be in touch if you need to

Hi All
Junior Nationals is taking place on Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July this
year. The tournament is taking place in association with Sutton Coldfield Rugby
Club at the Roger Smolden Ground, 160 Walmley Road, Sutton Coldfield, West
Midlands, B76 2QA.
For those teams that need it, camping is available onsite for the Friday and
Saturday nights at the ground, where there is access to toilets and showers at
the clubhouse. Please let me know if you are planning to camp on either or both
nights so I have an idea of numbers. The cost of camping is included in the
entry fee.
Food and drinks will be available to buy during the day from the clubhouse, and
cooked breakfast will be available on the Sunday morning. At the moment assume
you will have to pay for breakfast too, but once all the money is sorted out, if
its possible I will pay a lump sum to the people putting it on include it in the
entry fee. Walmley High Street, which has the usual array of shops and
takeaways, is about half a mile down the road, and a couple of miles further on
is a massive Walmart ASDA superstore. We have access to the clubhouse on the
Saturday evening. I am hoping that the bar will be open, though it may only be
serving soft drinks (not an issue for most of you). I hope to have some kind of
entertainment lined up (this is currently to be confirmed, perhaps a quiz and/or
party of some sort, or MAC line competitions or something). Anyway, we are
usually pretty good at amusing ourselves, and there are plenty of bowling and
cinema options available nearby if you fancy
that.
The cost is £90 per team. Please let me know the number of teams (and approx
number of people you intend to bring), and send a cheque for the appropriate
amount payable to ¡Andrew Vaughan¢ at 12, Court Farm Road, Birmingham, B23 5ND.
Remember to include your team name, contact details, and whether you intend to
camp on either or both nights.
Some details may change as I hope to meet with Sutton Rugby Club this weekend to
finalise details. I will post out any changes, but do not anticipate there being
(m)any.
IMPORTANT
I'm hoping this is going to be a goood venue to use in terms of facilities and
location, and would like to think it will be one that we use again in future if
all goes well. My first bid to get access to it failed as they were nervous,
particularly about the camping and potential associated problems with behaviour,
damage to site, and risk of litter etc. They are a rugby club, so their concerns
will be based on what they know. A couple of us have had to work hard to assure
them it will be OK. We have had to put a load of measures in place (more details
later and in captains packs etc) to allay their fears, as well as telling them
how the Ultimate community is unlike most other sporting communities, with a
much more developed sense of responsibility. It's your sport, it's your
tournament, it's your reputation. DON'T LET YOURSELVES DOWN!!
If you have any questions please be in touch
