U17s Nationals are only a week away. So far we have the following entered...
Airbadgers 1
Airbadgers 2
Airbadgers 3
Airbadgers 4
Ocelots 1
Ocelots 2
Ocelots 3
Artic Bears 1
Artic Bears 2
Artic Bears 3
NC Hammer
D-Unit
Catch Those
And definite interest from Deva, Stourbridge and Wakefield. That's 16 teams
which is a nice number, but we could stretch it a bit if there are any other
teams still interested in attending. There's still space for one more team
in the hostel in Birkenhead (York are already in and space is saved for
Wakefield). I'm assuming Airbadgers have their hostel sorted out, Artic
Bears and D-Unit are day tripping, and Catch Those are crashing at
Johanna's. Stourbridge???
If there is anyone else that doesn't have a team but wants to play, let me
know because I know Stourbridge and Catch Those were a bit short of players.
Can you let me know if you have a significant number of year 8s and younger,
or 17s girls on the team. Just sorting out the trophies and wondering what
challenge matches we can have this year. U13s (Airbadgers Vs Cheshire) had a
match last year so something similar would be good, and maybe an U17s girl's
match and even possibly U13s girls if anyone other than Ocelots could form a
team for a one off match during the weekend.
Can you also let me know what you would like for a starting time this year.
We began late last year at 12, but would probably favour a 10:00 start this
year. If you can't make it there that early, let me know.
Directions will be sent out early next week, and the schedule will probably
change right up until Saturday morning, but we can arrange for certain teams
not to play first game if that helps.
Opinions on the pull rule and whether we play Callaghan's goals would also
be appreciated. Personally, I feel if we play the new indoor pull rules,
then we add in a speed rule for the pull, or risk trashing the discs too
much as has happened in some student games.
