Lookfly UKUA Annual Awards 2006

The UKUA are proud to announce the UKUA Annual Awards now sponsored
exclusively by Lookfly. This year, only junior categories are being
celebrated and so all nominations and voting will be done through this email
group.

Through discussion with winners and sponsors, we hope that the changes will
bring greater relevancy and worth to the recognition gained by the winners
from the voters.
Junior Male Player of the Year
Junior Female Player of the Year
Many Juniors had not even picked up a disc before when the UKUA Awards were
launched four years ago! However, in that time many of them have developed
into the future stars of UK Ultimate. This award is to go to that Junior who
has exhibited a high level of skill that makes them an admirable player, and
perhaps more importantly, an exciting prospect. Previous winners have
rapidly moved from representing Great Britain in the Junior division to
major players on internationally competing club teams.

Most Spirited Junior Team

There is no question that playing a competitive match within the rules and
with a healthy attitude to your opposition is a central tenet of our sport,
and if a team can appreciate this early, they deserve recognition. When
Juniors have a reputation for brash confidence, a team that knows the rules
and plays fair needs to be held up as an example.

Junior Developer of the Year

Whether it be in a specific coaching role, as a facilitator for Junior
involvement, or simply as someone who's introduced more than their fair
share of kids to the game, there's a good chance you know someone who's
fostering the next generation of Ultimate players. If you do, consider them
for public recognition, explain why, and let the rest of the membership know
what a good job they're doing.

email to admin@... with the subject line: Junior Nominations
along with a short paragraph explaining why you feel they should be
nominated. Closing date for nominations is February 28th.
