I know I have tried this a number of times before, but I'm going to try
again. Sorry if you get this twice (or even once by mistake), I haven't
cross referenced who is on the junior ultimate egroup (if you aren't on it
and want to be, send me an email). If you have emailed junior ultimate and
didn't get a reply, then I apologise; please email back and I'll make sure
we do whatever we can to support you in promoting junior ultimate.
It would be really useful to know approximate numbers of juniors playing
Ultimate in the UK. With bids being asked for shortly for 2007 National
Junior Indoors, Outdoors, U17s and Junior Women, we need to know about
potential interest, especially for arranging capacity for halls/fields.
We have around 36 junior teams in the country, hopefully each with at least
one contact on this list. An interactive map at
http://www.ukultimate.com/juniors/info.aspx shows where these teams are, a
little team bio, status (playing in competitions, active, only rumoured to
exist) and a team contact. If you want anything changed about your team, or
you know of any other junior teams, then please email me directly, or feel
free to broadcast to this list. What I really want to know are approximate
numbers and ages of juniors on your teams. I've included my best guess of
each team, so please confirm or correct my details.

I'm sure there are more teams and some of these to be removed. Please give
me any information you have so that our records are accurate. With around
400 juniors that we know about and at least 15 teams we know very little
about, we really could have more than 500 juniors playing Ultimate. This is
important if we are looking for funding to produce promotional/coaching
materials for schools. The biggest impact on numbers happens when we manage
to get Ultimate on the curriculum, but this has only happened in a handful
of schools/Colleges. With the sport somehow managing to be so inclusive and
the general ethos fitting in so well with Citizenship across the curriculum,
there is growing demand in schools.
