Junior Development Tournament   Message List

Right, enclosed is an invoice for anyone that needs it to get money out of
their school/college. Tournament details are as follows. Team entry is £20,
cheques payable to Bishop Heber High School please. You can pay on the day
if you negotiate with me, or post to Kevin Lowe at 15 Normanston Road,
Oxton,
Birkenhead. CH43 5SB

Arrive at Bishop Heber High School for 9:00 on Sunday morning. Captain's
meeting is at 9:15, first games start at 9:30. Let me know if you are
going to be late and I can shuffle the games a bit. Playing on a half size
pitch with curtain down the middle. There should be 16 teams, so it should
be 4 pools of 4 followed by quarters, semis and finals. That means 6 games
in the day, each of 14 minutes. The final will be over by 5pm. Trophies for
spirit, most improved, wooden spoon and anything else I think of. Please
note, there will be no trophy for winning as that is not the aim of this
tournament.

I would like everyone to try the new indoor pull rules. That means you can
drop the pull, and the pull needs to go through some part of the endzone (if
not caught) at
a height below 2 metres (I prefer the fingertip height rule of your closest
receiver in case you have a very short team). No walking the disc forward so
you play from where you catch it. If it is a valid pull and it sails/slides
out the back, you play it from the back of the endzone. Any non-valid pull
(flies out sides, hits ceiling, too high) may be middled and walked forward
one third of pitch (I will tape an X to mark the spot). Obviously, team
captains may decide upon their own rules if they don't like the official
ones. Please be lenient on your opponents, it is meant to be about
developing newer and younger players.

Directions to Bishop Heber High School (Chester Road, Malpas, Cheshire. SY14
8JD)

From South, come off M6 at junction 10a taking the M54.
Off at junction 3 and head North on A41 towards Chester.
After bypassing Whitchurch (still on A41) continue heading towards Chester.
Ignore first sign to Malpas
At roundabout on A41 (5 miles North of Whitchurch, 12 miles South of
Chester) with Market House pub on left, turn left.
Continue along this road for a mile until you see school on right.

From the North, head down the M53 towards Chester. Stay on the M53 as it
becomes the A55, but take next exit off signed Chester and Whitchurch.
Turn right at roundabout towards Chester, then first left onto A41.
At next roundabout (called Sainsbury's roundabout) take first left on A41
towards Whitchurch
After 8 miles, go straight over roundabout (Broxton).
After a further 4 miles, turn right at the roundabout with Market House pub
in front.
Continue along this road for a mile until you see school on right.

Refreshments will be available during the day so expect our usual range of
fair trade, organic stuff plus do-it-yourself sandwiches

I am expecting the following teams.

Deva (2 teams),
Mowers (2 teams - Deeds Deeds Deeds and Grove),
Catch Those (2 teams),
Leeds Uni,
Ocelots (3 teams),
Arthur Terry (3 teams),
Colwyn Bay,
York???
Space for 1 more...

All players must be aged 19 or younger (not turning 20 this year). For each
team, no more than 2 GB Junior standard players, or 3 GB U17s / GB2 standard
players on pitch at any time.

Anything else? Just email or phone me.

Kevin.
