Sorry for forwarding this to so many lists, but the more feedback we have,
the better our chances of having the tour meet our needs next year. This
year, the tour season was split so that all 3 mixed tours followed by mixed
nationals occurred first, then we had the open season. This was a change
from previous years when we had alternated between open and mixed tours.
Personally speaking, I didn't like the split from a juniors perspective
because we had always used Tour 1 & 2 for GB Junior selection and training,
but they were too late this year for that because of the split. Tour 2
happened while GB U17s, GB2 and GBJW were all in Latvia, Tour 3 was after
that international tournament and with Nationals this weekend, it looks like
we will have to decline our place because so many of GB Juniors are still in
Boston. The timings just haven't worked for us this year. There have been
benefits with the split season, most notably with how hard University teams
have worked to keep attract and keep female players so they can compete in
the split season. These are just my personal views, but please feedback your
own today if you can (UKUA board meet on Monday evening to discuss feedback
and make final decision on next year which will be to continue with split as
this year, split but reverse order so open season occurs first, or return to
previous integrated seasons)
