STAGE 1: Shootout at the Gun & Mercantile

SCENE: The new shipment of Colts and Winchesters have arrive ad the
local Gun & Mercantile and you and your pards, Buckskin John and
Chilly Chad, have waited for the shopkeeper to open up since first
light. As you fondle the new shootin irons on the counter, others
have different ideas. Gangly Greg and his gang, looking to stock up
their own arsenal, bust down the door and draw on you. You
shout "You better think real hard about this.."

SEQUENCE: With revolvers, rifle and shotgun on the table and hands
at your sides, pick up first revolver and dispatch the thieves
P1,P1,P2,P2,P3. Lay revolver on table and pick up second one and
dump all five into P3. Now retrieve you rifle and shoot the bandits
R1,R2,R3,R4,R1,R2,R3,R4. As the last of the ne'er-do-wells retreat
through the door bury them with blasts from the scattergun,
S1,S2,S1,S2. The shipment is saved and you're the hero!

STAGE 3: Cabin Ambush

SCENE: You've asked your pards, DH Hauler and Chilly Chad, to help
you build a new cabin on your homestead. While construction is
underway, you've been living in a wall tent and taking your baths in
the creek. This is a perfect setting for an ambush by those dirty
thugs, Bushwhack Bill and his gang of miscreants. As you set up for
your weekly bath at the creek, those no-goods decide this would be
the perfect time to dry-gulch you. While washing the cooders from
your hair you see `em and shout "Bushwhack me nekked, will ya!"

SEQUENCE: With guns lying out on the creek bank (table) and hands
at your head, start by dropping your towel and reach for revolver
number 1 and shoot the ambushers, P1,P3,P1,P3,P2. Get your other
six-shooter and lay into `em again, P1,P1,P1,P3,P3,P3. Next grab
your rifle and send rounds downrange, R1,R4,R2,R3,R1,R4,R2,R3 then
load two more and pop R4,R4. Grab your shotgun and finish off the
stragglers, S2,S1,S2,S1,S2,S1,S2,S1. Now get dressed and dump their
carcasses in the creek to rot.

Monthly Cowboy Action Shoot
Sunday, Oct 21, 2007

Howdy All,

We had a pretty decent turnout for the October shoot. Sunday dawned
pretty cool with a light breeze and overcast skies which held for
the whole match when the wet stuff started falling as we cleaned
up. That new double-element propane heater felt real nice in
between stages let me tell you. We had some fun stages courtesy of
Dead Shot, but we still had to give him some grief just to be
ornery. The original write-up for stage-1 had us fondling the "new
shooters". Fortunately, it was just a bunch of us old hands there!
Ol' Buckskin John while not able to shoot cuz his horse threw him
and his back out expressed glee that the Gun & Mercantile had
real "Loaded" firearms for sale. And consideration was given to
awarding Dead Shot some bonus points on stage-3 for not only
properly using the word "miscreant" but pronouncing it right too!
Congratulations to the Clean Shoot Pards (marked by "*")! Not an
easy thing to do when your hands are sliding towards numb! And,
finally, an especially big thanks to A Damn Shame for all those
tasty Barbecue Sloppy Joe's !!
