The U.S. Women's National Team advanced to the quarterfinals of the
FIFA Women's World Cup USA 2003 yesterday with a 3-0 victory over
North Korea in their third and final match of Group A play. In the
game against North Korea, Briana Scurry recorded her second straight
shutout of the tournament, and Cat Reddick scored twice for the U.S.
in front of an electric atmosphere as 22,828 fans piled into the SOLD-
OUT Columbus Crew Stadium. Team USA travelled to Boston last night
and will have two days before clashing with Norway, the second place
finisher in Group B. Norway is the only other nation besides the
U.S. to have won the Women's World Cup (in 1995), so this time, in
this heated rivalry, the biggest in women's soccer, SOMEONE will be
headed home earlier than ever before. DON'T MISS THIS MATCH:
at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA, at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Televised live on ESPN 2, Galavision and TeleFutura in the U.S.
