Hey,
So we're gonna try to meet at 11am again at Daisy field. It's
supposed to be beautiful weather, but I don't know how many people are
away for Memorial day weekend. So I guess I'm taking an informal poll
to get an idea of the numbers. If everyone could take a moment to
respond that would be great. Of course, as usual, it won't be entirely
accurate because there are many people who come out that are not on
this list. But it's better than nothing. Thanks. See ya...
Hey,
Just a reminder, we're gonna try to start at 11am tomorrow (Sunday the
21st)at Downes field (or at Daisy... we'll see) Hopefully the field
will be in decent shape.
Also, Buda summer hat league still has some space for women if anyone
is interested. Check it out at www.buda.org. See ya...

I've been playing ultimate with a group of people for a couple years on a
field located on the top of Mission Hill. It's at the top of Parker Hill
Avenue, just past the hospital. Me and a friend were playing there a few
Sundays ago and it was empty. It's big enough for two games. It's not
groomed as nicely as Downes, but we like it.
We are also trying to get more people together to play on Tuesday night, or
another weeknight. Looks like rain again this week, but next week i think
we'll try and get something together.
Hope to see on the field soon.

I am all for not doing any damage to the fields. Field space is very difficult to find. I also like the new start time. . . nothing better than disc to ge rid of the hangover.

Hey,
As many of you know by now we've been having a little conflict
with field space. It seems that after ten years of playing Sunday
afternoon pickup at Downes field with no problems we're now
running up against little league lacrosse games (and at Daisy,
our backup field, we've been running up against softball games)
After some deliberation we decided that the easiest thing to do
would be to move our starting time up to 11am (preferably at
Downes... if not, then definitely at Daisy).
This Sunday was to be our first game at the new starting time.
But since this Sunday is also Mother's day I had some doubts
about how many people were actually going to come out.
However, this doesn't concern me as much as the fact that it has
been raining steadily for the past week and supposedly will
continue to rain through the weekend. This is not some light little
sprinkle, mind you. But steady, heavy rain. I strongly advise, nay,
IMPLORE you not to play tomorrow. It is hard enough to find
available field space in this town. With the amount of water that
has fallen in such a short time we could make a real mess of
those fields. ( I speak with some experience in this matter). Take
a week off. Rent a movie, read a book, spend time with the kids,
have a long conversation with a loved one. But please don't ruin
our fields! We'll try again next week. And with all this rain the
grass should be beautiful. See ya...
I will venture out in the rain - it should be better by tomorrow.

great playing on sunday, despite all the field changes! david and i
were wondering if any of you play with a jp/roxbury area summer club
team. anyone looking for players around there?? email me off list. later.
I'm looking for a summer club team. I play for UMass as a junior
during the year. Please email me off-list if you know anyone who's
looking for male mid/handler/runner types.
Andrew
So, Downes field is definitely undergoing some renovations. I
passed it the other day and there are a couple of back-hoes
surrounded by piles of dirt siitting in the middle of the fenced-in
field. With the lacrosse players occupying the open field it looks
like we'll be forced to play at Daisy field on a regular basis. Oh
well. See ya...(if it isn't raining tomorrow)
Well, not many people have responded to the poll. But, of course,
that doesn't mean that noone will show up. We should
remember that many players who come out to jp pickup are still
not on this list. It's a nice day and I would assume that there will
be plenty of people. We'll see...
I'm in

So... Just taking a poll. How many of us plan on showing up tomorrow on this Easter/Passover/Patriot's day weekend? And remember, it's at 4pm at Downes. You can count me in...

Hi everyone,
Recently moved to Boston (more or less) and I'm excited to play some
ultimate here. I'll be there at 2 pm tomorrow! Look forward to
meeting and throwin' the disc with y'all.
Cheers,
Mike
Yes, the weather will be fine and I'm sure we'll get enough
people regardless of how many responses we get. Remember,
many of the people who come out to JP pickup are not even on
this list (yet). We still have to rely on lots of word-of-mouth
communication.
As far as starting time goes, I think it should remain 2:00 for
now. The game has to get up and running for a few weeks and
the word has to spread around before we can change it back to
4. So see ya'll tomorrow at 2.
Hey All
New group member, long time JP House player... I would like to see a
4pm start since according to the Buda pickup listing, that is the
spring start time. This way, we might get more drive by players
showing up, too!!
Psyched to play, it should be really nice.
Kevin
i'll be there at 2pm.

way i'm there!
