Description

Ultimate Frisbee Pickup
Date/Time: Spring/summer hours: Sundays 4:00 pm
(Game starts 2:00 pm fall/winter)
Location: Downes Field off of Pond Ave. (which runs parallel to the Jamaicaway).
Technically, it takes place right over the JP border in Brookline, about two blocks from lovely Jamaica Pond.
If Downes Field is being reseeded, game moves to Daisy Field
Description: It has changed over the years from being a pretty casual game with a small turnout to a more competitive game comprised of mostly corporate and a few club level players. But it is still a friendly game for players of all levels.
Directions: > From Cambridge/north of Boston: Take the B.U. Bridge to the Riverway (which becomes the Jamaicaway). After it crosses rt.9, take the next right onto Willow Pond Rd. Two blocks up, Downes Field is on the left.
> From west of Boston: Take rt.9 inbound. Take a right onto the Jamaicaway and then the next right onto Willow Pond Rd. Downes Field is two blocks up on your left.
> From south: Take rt.203 to the Jamaicaway, two blocks after Jamaica Pond take a left onto Willow Pond Rd. Two blocks up on your left is Downes Field.
> On the T: Take the "D" line of the Green line and get off at Brookline Village. Walk up Station St. to Harvard Ave. Turn left onto Harvard Ave. and cross rt.9. Bear right at the fire station and walk up High St. On the other side of the hill, take a left onto Highland Rd. Downes Field is one block down on your right.
#39 bus outbound. After the VA hospital on your left get off at Bynner St. Take a right and walk three blocks, crossing the Jamaicaway and Pond Ave. Downes field is up the hill on the left.
#66 bus inbound. Get off after Brookline Village, underneath the Jamaicaway overpass. Walk up Pond ave. (which runs parallel to the Jamaicaway) and turn right onto Highland Rd. Downes field is up the hill on the left. If Downes Field is being reseeded, game moves to Daisy Field one block away, right off the Jamaicaway. Please meet at Downes first.

Hey,   Sorry for the late response. The "casual" game moved to a field about a block from Stony Brook station on the Orange line. It now starts around 4ish.
