Just wanted to send a quick goodbye from Amber and myself.  We were planning on
making it to one more class tonight to see everyone but got too caught up in all
the last minute moving stuff, it's like it never ends!  Anyway, before we leave
for Santa Cruz Wednesday morning and wanted to say that it's been really great
training with everyone this last year, we'll definitely drop in and visit class
when we come by LA in the future.  Thanks for all the good times. Muito axé p'ra
tudo.

I hope everyone is doing well!

As you may have already heard, Amber recently had to have knee surgery to repair
her meniscus and ended up on her parent's couch for 6 weeks. Luckily she had
insurance to cover the surgery. Unfortunately, she was just informed that her
insurance would not cover the costs of the physical therapy she needs to have a
speedy and healthy recovery.  The Therapist recommended that she come in 3 times
per week during her 6 week recovery, which, at $200/visit is financially
impossible for her. So she has chosen to limit her visits to 3 total and
maintain the routine at home. Even with only 3 visits her costs will be upwards
of $600, which is all out of her pockets that are unfortunately not very deep
(she is unable to work for at least 6 weeks and is a student).

Her brother and I have decided to start a fund-raiser to help her pay these
medical bills and get her back on her feet … literally. Any donation is welcome
and appreciated, even 5 dollars helps!

Beach class will be cancelled tomorrow 6/14. Unfortunatly i have a prior
engagement and cannot be there in time to make it. Also, because of the events
coming up in the next few weeks (santa barbara solstice parade, batizado) the
beach class will be postponed until further notice.

I feel that we represent Capoeira Batuque well on and off the roda.
